Three hands-on workshops with eight participants in each will be turning a “Dublin Viking Bowl.” The workshop will emphasize turning a thin-walled bowl. Rough shaping a bowl to achieve a smooth surface and creating fluid curves straight from the bowl gouge, while keeping vibration to a minimum, will be key parts of the workshop. Lathes, chucks, tool grinders, and wood will be provided. Prior to the workshops, confirmed participants will receive workshop information including driving instructions, a list of turning tools and lathe accessories to bring.
Seattle Chapter’s insurance for workshops requires that you must be a Chapter member to participate. A partial year membership, June-December 2017 is available for $25. Preregistration, with payment, is required. The deadline for a full refund is May 1st, 2017. After May 1st, 2017 a refund can only be given if someone else is available to take your place.
