About this event
Joe will show us how to turn the thin wall end grain vessels he uses for his pierced Luminary series. He will also talk about his background in carving and turning, and show a few finished and unfinished vessels.
Joe has been a woodturner for over 30 years, drawing inspiration from nature by walking and hiking in the Great Northwest. His initial interests in woodworking revolved around makingand carving small wooden boxes. After getting his first lathe in 1991, Joe never really went back to makingrectangular boxes. However, he has continued embellishing his work by carving, coloring, piercing, and texturing it.
Joe’s pieces have been seen in American Woodturner and multiple periodic email highlights sent to
members of the American Association of Woodturners.
