Join Tom Henscheid for our mothly member meeting in an adventure in 'Fun Finishes'. Tom is a veteran in woodturning and woodworking and he will be showing us techniques for applying easy and fun finishes to our wood turned objects. 
Some of the finishes Tom will be demonstrating are: 
#1. Milk paint variations,  Several application techniques.
#2. Crackled finishes. 
#3 rusted and patina’d metallic paint.
#4 Metal leafing.
#5 Waterlox glazes (creating subtle color effects while applying Waterlox).
#6 natural oxidation, ( speeding the aging process with baking soda, lye and ammonia fuming.
#7 Iron Acetate ebonizing using rusty vinegar. 
In addition  to these techniques, Tom will also demonstrate a few easy on the lathe texture techniques, Chattering, “ Roping”, “Spiraling”, Beading. Although his focus will be on fun unique finishes he will also cover techniques for simplifying conventional finishes and improving predictably.
